Hello Sega fans.
It’s been over a month since I posted “What’s Next!” for Sega Does, with no new reviews in sight.
“What’s the deal, Dylan?!”
A couple things.
Thing #1) I asked around on Twitter for a Japanese speaker/reader/good English writer to review the dense strategy title, Bahamut Senki for me, complete with pay. No takers.
This cover is the most metal thing I’ve ever seen.
Thing #2) As I was about to skip Bahamut Senki and move on to Head Buster for the Game Gear, cccmar and friends over at RomHacking.net dropped a Bahamut Senki English translation. Not only is the full game available to play in English, but the instruction manual and the item catalog – both of which are critical to understanding the game – have been translated into English also. As always, the RomHacking community is amazing.
This means I can now play Bahamut Senki and conceivably know what I’m doing. Given the game’s depth, however, I’m not sure how quickly I’ll be putting out a review. Sooner than later, I hope.
And in the meantime, the Archive needs continuous content. Perhaps this means more “Nintendo is Great” posts, or perhaps I will move ahead to other Sega games then circle back around to Bahamut Senki. I’ve done the latter before with Phantasy Star II and III among other huge RPGs.
Anyway. Sega Does. I know it looks like I’ve forgotten you, but I haven’t. Bahamut Senki is just a mammoth beast of a title.
Please stay tuned, and thanks for reading!
