Dizzy the Egg has to be one of the most confounding mascots ever. Who wants to control a pretentious egg who can solve everyone’s problems? A jester needs something to juggle? “Don’t worry, I’m on it!” he says. A lion has something in his paw? “Leave it to me!” You’re an egg wearing an Indiana Jones fedora. Get over yourself!
Dizzy’s hubris aside, Dizzy the Adventurer is one of his better outings. His mission here is to save his girlfriend Daisy (also an egg) from an evil wizard. Dizzy collects items he finds around him and uses them at the appropriate place. See a pickaxe? Go destroy that boulder blocking the entrance to the cave. Discover a gold doubloon? Give it to the ferryman after you cross the river. It’s not always apparent what you do with certain items, but their use will reveal themselves eventually.
Dizzy’s egg-ness comes with a price, though. Every so often when you jump, you roll immediately when you land. This becomes detrimental when you have to jump onto a moving platform over water, and the water can kill you instantly. Other than that, Dizzy the Adventurer is one eggs-plosive adventure. If you can get around Dizzy’s smugness, that is.
